FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a digital badge?
A digital badge is a portable image that enables individuals to showcase their credentials and qualifications online. The badge is associated with a webpage that provides detailed information about the certification or qualification, including the requirements and criteria for earning it. Essentially, a badge functions as a digital representation of a certificate or diploma that can be easily verified online, providing transparent information about the accomplishment it signifies.
What information do the badges contain?
Digital badges typically include information regarding the issuing organization or individual. They provide details about the criteria that must be fulfilled to earn the badge, and in some cases, they may also include links to the evaluation standards employed. Additionally, badges indicate the date of issuance and offer a verifiable reference to authenticate the achievements of the person who earned the badge.
How will I be informed about earning a digital badge from FPIC?
You will receive an email from the FPIC (info@********.org) that contains instructions for collecting your digital badge and explains how to create and configure your account, if you don’t already have one.
Where are my badges hosted?
The FPIC offers a portfolio space where you can display all the badges you have earned or will earn in your profile. Additionally, you have the option to download the badges for display on other platforms or in digital documents.
Can someone else copy and use my FPIC badge?
No. The digital badge is an image that contains encoded data representing information linked to your identity on the FPIC platform. Digital certificates are more reliable and secure than paper certificates, because they cannot be falsified.
Why are no badges appearing in my portfolio?
To begin, please ensure that you have registered using the same email address that you typically use for the First Peoples Innovation Centre. This email address is crucial for identifying and encrypting your badges.
Once registered, it is important to click on the link provided in the email you received titled “Confirmation of your registration.” This step is necessary to validate your identity and allocate the badges to you.
After completing this process, you should be able to view the badges that have been awarded to you by the FPIC.
Where and how can I share my badges?
You can share your badges on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, add them to your email signature or website and put them in your CV.
Is it possible to choose not to display your digital badge online?
Yes of course. However, it should be understood that the badge then becomes private and that no one other than the user can see it in their profile. To hide a badge, simply access My profile/Login then click on the Badges tab and choose the badge you want to make invisible. Then, on the badge page in the section under the “Visibility in the directory” badge, click on the eye pictogram which then becomes “crossed out”, and therefore invisible to other users.
What should I do if I lost/forgot my password?
You will find a “Forgot Password” link under the “Login” button on the login page. A new page will open where you must enter the email address linked to your profile.
You will then receive a link by email to create a new password.
You just have to follow the indicated procedure. If you don’t receive an email in your inbox, take a look in the junk folder. He may find himself there.
If not, please contact us at badge@cipp-fpic.com
